To the Secretary of State's office:
I hope you will continue the efforts of your

predecessor to keep voter verified paper audit trail

system in place and to continue to be a requirement

for the year 2006. 

I understand the hearing to weaken this standard will

be held 3-15 in Sacramento. Please be aware of how

little work is required to mess up a user's computer

system on the Internet as an example. Any computerized

system can be easily intruded and cause permanent

damage without the necessary software installed for

protection. 

Our voter system is much the same in the fact that it

is a software package that can be intruded by

knowledgeable programmers. A paper trail is the only

way in the event of intrusion that we can avoid the

disaster of voter fraud. 

Our great state of CA is seen as an entrepreneur by

other states and some follow our set example. So it is

of up most importance that we set a good example and

do everything humanly possible to protect the voter

system in CA.

Every time I post, I seem to make some dumb mistake. The hearing in Sac. is 3-17 not 3-15. Sorry, my finger hit the wrong key.

I ve had a lot oops my self of late. I should have left my real name out of the last post, but you know what I don't care because I believe in what I said. Regardless of the dates being wrong I think my intent should be understood. Whether action is taken is another thing. Thanks Vi
